Fashion designer Geetanjali Singh launched her career in 2002 from New York. Having first graduated with a degree in management with specialisation in marketing & textile technology from UMIST Manchester, she then acquired her master’s degree from QMW College, University of London.
One may say that her work experience started as early as 12 years of age; under the wings of her mother, designer Mani Kohli of Khubsoorat Collection – an in house British Asian label with rich 35 years of history. Geetanjali found herself exposed to the glamour of the fashion industry by helping backstage, organising fashion shows, and developed a deep understanding of design and production by watching her mother interact with clients at their haute couture boutiques.
Having styled prominent persons, Indian American celebrities, and working with numerous brides, Geetanjali wanted to pursue fashion directly from the drawing board in India. Setting up production house ‘GS’ she established New Delhi as her base in 2012.
‘GS’ has since been recognised as an atelier production house that works on independent projects for designers and established brands that require design and production needs. One such designer fully used her services for their client ‘Disney’s Frozen Broadway Musical’. Other lines are in collaboration with international designers that cater to niche markets looking for upmarket, trendy, and high-end pret lines. ‘GS’ has also launched ‘Gee Sin’ as a label; marketing limited edition capsule collections, for the young fashion forward woman looking to make a bold statement.
